Experience Israel, its History and Beauty

 Jerusalem Cardo excavations
The second part of the program takes participants for a two-week exploration of Israel in our “from Prophets to Professors” experience. We travel first to the Galilee and the Golan Heights, in a carefully planned tour of sites beloved by Israeli teens for their natural beauty. Our experienced guides have been selected for their knowledge of archaeology, history, and love of the land. We will challenge ourselves physically to hike, rappel, and canoe, as well as other outdoor activities.  (All activities are optional; alternative activities will be available.)

We will spend time in Jerusalem in a life changing experience with visits to the latest archaelogical excavations and other renowned places.

We will then travel to the Negev, climb Masada in the early morning hours, dip in the Dead Sea, hike in the desert and see the sunrise, while we evaluate the fruits of Israeli creativity in the fields of desert development, water extraction and collection as well as new purification technologies, alternative fuels, and energy production. Our trip focuses on innovation and natural beauty, history and the people who lived and live on the land.

Discovering creativity and imagination at innovationisrael applies not only to the artistic, scientific and technological. We will foster close bonds between our students and Israelis, facilitating encounters and cooperative activities. We will also revisit history and tradition as we relive events at many archaeological sites. In fact we will spend a day working at an archeological dig! Finally, we will give our students an ample cultural experience by visiting minority communities, such as the Druse in the north and the Bedouin in the south.
